Dr. Golden is born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Nathan and Regina Golden.

1950

Dr. Golden receives a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago.

1953

Dr. Golden receives a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago.

1953

Dr. Golden serves in the U.S. Army.

1958

Dr. Golden receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Chicago.

1958

Dr. Golden becomes an instructor of ancient languages at the College of William & Mary.

1960

Dr. Golden is promoted to assistant professor of ancient languages at the College of William & Mary.

1964

Dr. Golden becomes a fellow of Cooperative Program Humanities at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.

1965

Dr. Golden becomes an associate professor of classical languages at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.

1968

Dr. Golden is promoted to full professor at Florida State University.

1971

Dr. Golden becomes a fellow of Cooperative Program Humanities with the Society for Religion in Higher Education.

1972

Dr. Golden serves as president of the southern section of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South.

Dr. Golden becomes a program director in humanities at Florida State University.
