1932

Dr. Brod is born in St. Charles, Missouri to Theodore Frank and Caroline Brod.

1954

Dr. Brod receives a Bachelor of Arts from Southeast Missouri State College.

1955

Dr. Brod joins the U.S. Army, rising in the ranks to Corporal.

1958

Dr. Brod receives a Master of Arts from the University of Missouri.

1958

Dr. Brod becomes a reporter and editor for the Montezuma Valley Journal in Cortez, Colorado.

1960

Dr. Brod becomes a member of the journalism faculty at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

1960

Dr. Brod receives the First Place Photojournalism Award from the Colorado Press Association.

1968

Dr. Brod receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Minnesota.

1969

Dr. Brod becomes a member of the journalism faculty at Northern Illinois University.

1976

Dr. Brod is appointed department chairman at Northern Illinois University.

1981

Dr. Brod serves as the executive secretary of the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors.

Dr. Brod serves as editor of the professional journal, Grassroots Editor.
