Dr. Koenig is born in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Paul Fritz and Barbara Ann Koenig.

Dr. Koenig receives a Bachelor of Science from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska.

Dr. Koenig receives a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Koenig begins a medical internship at the Southwest Michigan Area Health Education Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
1986
Dr. Koenig becomes a resident in surgery at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
1989
Dr. Koenig becomes a resident in anesthesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
1992
Dr. Koenig becomes a fellow in Neuroanesthesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Koenig marries William Walter Holt, MD, PhD.

Dr. Koenig becomes an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Michael Reese Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Koenig co-authors a book chapter in “International Anesthesiology Clinics.”

Dr. Koenig receives a national grant from the American Heart Association.

Dr. Koenig becomes an associate professor at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Koenig serves as Director of Medical Student Education in Anesthesiology. She serves in this position until 2013.

Dr. Koenig is promoted to tenured professor at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Koenig is appointed Academic Advisory Dean at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She continues to hold this position.
