Dr. Kovach is born in Hammond, Indiana to William Charles Kovach and Florence Kovach.
1969
Dr. Kovach receives a Bachelor of Arts in speech from St. Joseph’s College.
1970
Dr. Kovach serves as a graduate assistant at Roosevelt University.
1971
Dr. Kovach becomes regional operations manager of Interstate Department Stores, Inc.
1973
Dr. Kovach becomes a senior consultant for the Calumet City Youth Service Bureau.
1974
Dr. Kovach receives a Master of Arts in psychology from Roosevelt University.
1974
Dr. Kovach becomes a research associate in neurology at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University.
1976
Dr. Kovach joins the adjunct faculty at Thornton Community College (now South Suburban College) and he becomes a member in neurology of the Loyola University Health System.
1976
Dr. Kovach joins the adjunct faculty at Purdue University Calumet (now Purdue University Northwest).
1979
Dr. Kovach becomes a research associate at Northwestern Memorial Hospital of Northwestern Medicine.
1980
Dr. Kovach is appointed supervisor of neurology at the Loyola University of Health System.
1983
Dr. Kovach becomes a pre-doctoral intern at Chicago Read Mental Health Center.
1986
Dr. Kovach receives a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and he becomes a school psychologist intern for School District 164 in Park Forest, Illinois.
1988
Dr. Kovach is appointed director of the Education Research Exchange and becomes president of Joseph W. Kovach and Associates, Ltd.
1992
Dr. Kovach is appointed director of Buzan Centre Ltd.
1993
Dr. Kovach is appointed chairman of the Departments of Natural and Social Sciences and Psychology at the Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ).
1998
Dr. Kovach becomes a professor at CCSJ.
2006
Dr. Kovach is appointed chairman of the Department of General Education at CCSJ.
2017
Dr. Kovach is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and is named a Distinguished Humanitarian by Marquis Who’s Who.
2018
Dr. Kovach attends the American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
