Ms. Whealey is born in New York, New York to Edgar Bertram Deimel and Lois Elizabeth Washburn.
1951
Ms. Whealey receives a Bachelor of Arts in history from Stanford University.
1952
Ms. Whealey becomes a fifth grade teacher at Swaybe School (now Owyhee Combined School) in Owyhee, Nevada.
1954
Ms. Whealey marries Robert Howard Whealey.
1955
Ms. Whealey becomes a seventh grade teacher in Fort Knox Dependent School in Kentucky.
1956
Ms. Whealey becomes an adult basic education teacher for the United States Air Force in Oxford, Mississippi.
1957
Ms. Whealey becomes a sixth grade teacher at Amerman School (now Amerman Elementary School).
1958
Ms. Whealey becomes an eighth grade English and social studies teacher at Slauson Junior High School (now Slauson Middle School).
1974
Ms. Whealey serves as the administrative assistant of the Humanities Conference at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
1975
Ms. Whealey receives a Master of Arts in political science from The Ohio University.
1975
Ms. Whealey is appointed president of the League of Women Voters of Athens County.
1993
Ms. Whealey is appointed president of the Athens branch of the American Association of University Women.
1995
Ms. Whealey is appointed president of the Ohio board of the American Association of University Women.
1998
Ms. Whealey receives the Community Service Award from the Athens County Community Service Council.
2002
Ms. Whealey receives the Spirit Award from the League of Women Voters of Athens County.

Ms. Whealey is named an Outstanding Feminist by the Athens Herstory Celebration.

Ms. Whealey receives a master’s degree in social science from The Ohio University.
